Landing Zone Design & Architecture

Our highest-volume Azure work is in AKS for container orchestration, Azure SQL and Cosmos DB for data, Synapse and Data Factory for analytics pipelines, and Azure DevOps services for CI/CD. Azure has a clear edge when the organization is Microsoft-native, has strict data residency requirements, or needs tight integration with M365 and Active Directory. AWS has stronger serverless and ML tooling. We deliver on both and will tell you honestly which fits your workload.

For most workloads, yes. We use Azure Migrate, Azure Database Migration Service, and Azure Site Recovery with tested cutover runbooks. For systems that require a maintenance window, we plan and execute in agreed low-traffic periods with a validated rollback procedure ready. Every Azure cutover we have run has landed within the committed window.

Yes. We have built Azure environments under HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and defense-adjacent compliance requirements. Azure Policy, Management Groups, Defender for Cloud regulatory compliance dashboards, and private endpoint architecture are part of the design phase — not a retrofit after migration is done.

Usually yes. Azure has a natural advantage in Microsoft-native organizations — Azure AD, M365, Dynamics, and the Power Platform all integrate without custom bridging. Benefits include reduced identity overhead, native compliance tooling, and unified DevOps through Azure DevOps services. That said, we give honest recommendations. If specific workloads fit AWS or GCP better, we will say so.

Azure FinOps optimization starts at the architecture phase — we right-size VM SKUs before provisioning, recommend Reserved Instance coverage where usage patterns justify it, and configure budget alerts via Azure Cost Management. The 90-day post-migration review we run catches the majority of savings. Azure Advisor recommendations are actioned systematically, not left in a queue.
